Refresh the Experience. Reinforce the Mission.

“

You don't always need to reinvent what you're doing. Sometimes all you need is to refine how you're doing it.

VOUS Team

At VOUS Church, Growth Track is our four-step discipleship pathway designed to help people discover their purpose, grow in their relationship with Jesus, and take their next step in the life of the Church.

In our previous article, Discipleship in Action, we shared the heart behind Growth Track and the practical systems that support it. Today, we're sharing how our teams collaborated to refresh the experience, along with resources you can use to strengthen your church's discipleship pathway.

‍

Refresh, Don't Reinvent

As our church continued to grow across multiple locations, we recognized an opportunity to revisit our Growth Track experience. Our curriculum needed updating, we wanted greater consistency across locations, and we saw opportunities to increase participant engagement.

Our mission hadn't changed, but we wanted to strengthen the experience supporting it.

The refresh centered on three objectives: clarity, consistency, and engagement. Accomplishing these objectives required intentional collaboration across Communications, Design, Film, and Operations.

‍

One Mission. Four Teams.

Each team contributed to creating a cohesive experience for both participants and facilitators.

‍

01. Communications: Turn Information Into Action

Our Communications team revisited the curriculum across all four Growth Track steps: Encounter, Establish, Equip, and Empower. Beyond updating the content, we wanted to ensure every practical teaching point connected participants to an actionable next step.

We incorporated QR codes, direct links, and additional resources throughout the booklets, connecting participants with opportunities already available at VOUS.

From joining a team to accessing resources on generosity and financial transparency, our goal was to remove barriers between receiving information and putting it into practice.

For your church: Audit your curriculum. For every practical principle you teach, ask yourself: Are we providing people with a clear way to put this into action?

‍

02. Design: Create an Interactive Experience

Our Design team translated the refreshed curriculum into four participant booklets and updated presentation slides, creating a consistent visual experience across locations.

But our goal extended beyond presentation. We incorporated interactive elements, including QR codes linking to digital content, ministry resources, and additional learning opportunities.

For example, participants can explore the story of VOUS through our anniversary video, access practical resources, and connect directly with opportunities to get involved.

For your church: Consider how your participant materials can become more than teaching guides. Use interactive elements to connect people with the resources and opportunities that bring your curriculum to life.

‍

03. Film: Reinforce the Teaching

Our Film team developed new teaching videos to support the updated curriculum. These videos help establish consistency across locations while providing engaging content that reinforces the message of each session.

Professional production isn't a prerequisite. Whether you're recording teaching videos or sharing testimonies, consider how video can support your curriculum and communicate your church's story.

‍

04. Operations: Equip the Facilitators

An intentional participant experience begins with prepared leaders.

Our Operations team developed a facilitator script and training to equip leaders with clear expectations, consistent teaching points, and a shared framework for guiding each session.

The goal isn't to make every facilitator sound the same. It's to give every leader the confidence and clarity to create meaningful connections with participants.

For your church: Don't just prepare the curriculum. Prepare the people responsible for communicating it.

‍

Take the Resources. Adapt the Experience.

Whether you're building a discipleship pathway or refreshing an existing one, we hope these resources provide a practical starting point.

Growth Track Resources

Explore our four Growth Track steps and reference these resources as you develop your own discipleship experience.

Step 01: Encounter

Step 02: Establish

Step 03: Equip

Step 04: Empower

‍

As you explore these resources, consider where your church could benefit from greater clarity, consistency, or engagement. Start by evaluating what's already working and identifying opportunities to better connect people with the resources and systems you already have in place.
