LIFE IN COLOR: HOW VOUS WORSHIP MADE THEIR NEW ALBUM

The scriptures that anchor this album – the freedom of 2 Corinthians 5:17, the sufficiency of 2 Corinthians 12:9, the call of Luke 9:23, are for every church. And the songs that were written around them are for every room.

VOUS Team

Life in Color, VOUS Worship latest project, is a twelve-song album, with every song rooted in the same simple conviction: that life before Jesus and life after Jesus are not just different in degree. They are different in kind. The album's name comes from that picture. The phrase first surfaced inside a song called "Living Proof," written as a response to 2 Corinthians 5:17, "The old has gone, the new is here." That is the thread that runs through the whole record. Songs like "Born Again," anchored in Luke 9:23, and "More Than Enough," drawn from 2 Corinthians 12:9, each reach toward the same thing: the color that enters a life when it is touched by grace.

How the Songs Came to Be

It all started around a table. The team didn't begin with a concept or a production brief. They began with a meal, a time of prayer, and a willingness to sit with one another long enough for something real to surface. From those conversations, about what they were experiencing, what scriptures kept returning, what themes felt alive in the room, melodies began to form.

From there, the songs moved through the whole community. Long before Life in Color had a release date, VOUS Church was already living inside these songs on Sunday mornings. The team watched how the congregation engaged, where they lifted their hands, which lyrics stayed with people through the week without being prompted. That response shaped everything. Songs were refined, melodies were adjusted.

The Visual World of the Album

At the center of Life in Color is a visual metaphor as clear as its name: a prism. Light passing through and breaking into color. Our designers entered the project not to create a message, but to respond to one that already existed, taking what the worship team had written and translating it into image and form.

We sat down with our designers and heard how they approached the album artwork and single art, the way each visual choice was meant to carry the same weight as the music itself. The result is an aesthetic that highlights personality and presence. During the live recording, the stage was all white. The singers wore pops of color. The camera captured the raw joy of a room full of people worshipping together, and that energy became the visual identity of the record.
