Finding Stillness in the Noise: 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting

Creating sacred space isn't about adding to your schedule, it's about reclaiming what matters most.

VOUS Team

Life rarely slows down on its own. Calendars fill, notifications pile up, and before we know it, the noise drowns out God’s whisper. That’s why, twice a year, we pause as a church family for 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting.

It’s not about adding one more thing to the schedule. It’s about reclaiming sacred time to hear God’s voice above the distractions. When we rally together, even a few quiet moments become powerful. Each January and August, Pray First becomes our daily invitation to reset, refocus, and realign with what truly matters.

Prayer is more than a rhythm for our church, it’s part of our culture. These 21 days prepare our hearts, equip us, and keep us expectant for the season ahead.

To help us stay focused, we create resources and opportunities that make prayer accessible and communal. From text reminders and daily prayer topics to Zoom gatherings and social media touchpoints, every tool is designed to help people step into God’s presence.

For pastors and leaders, we’ve also built a Marketing Timeline Resource PDF and Deck. This guide maps out the same strategy we use at VOUS: when to send emails, how to leverage social platforms, and ways to activate prayer gatherings online and in person. It’s a resource you can adapt for your own church to create momentum and engagement during 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting.

Morning Zoom Prayer

Every weekday begins with a collective reset at 6:30 a.m. on Zoom. Hundreds log in to seek God’s presence together. The format is simple. Voices are lifted, requests are shared, and testimonies remind us of God’s faithfulness. Though screens may separate us, hearts are united.

Midday IG Live Prayer

At noon, prayer takes to Instagram Live. For a few minutes, the scroll stops and we pause to pray as a community. Whether tuning in from a desk, a car, or a lunch break walk, these brief moments add a rhythm of reflection to the middle of the day.

Corporate Prayer Gatherings

Midweek, we gather in person for nights centered on worship, prayer, and encouragement. These aren’t Sunday services, they are family moments. One week might include communion, another quiet reflection through scripture, but always the Holy Spirit leads the way. These gatherings create sacred pauses that form us deeply.

Heart & Soul

Once a semester, all campuses come together for Heart & Soul. It’s a night to celebrate milestones, share vision, and recalibrate for what’s ahead. Worship and community fill the room as we are reminded that we are part of something bigger than ourselves.

Man Alive Prayer Breakfast

During the 21 Days, the men of our house also gather for Man Alive Prayer Breakfast. It’s a morning of prayer, encouragement, and brotherhood at our Miami Gardens location. Vulnerability is welcomed, faith is strengthened, and men walk away equipped with Godly strength and renewed purpose.

The Prayer Room

Every Wednesday at noon, throughout the year, we open the doors of our prayer rooms. Located at two campuses, this is an open invitation to step away from the busyness of the day. With Bibles and journals in hand, people gather for an hour of personal prayer and worship, carving out space for God’s presence.

A Culture of Prayer

Our goal for 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting is simple: to make prayer accessible for anyone, anywhere. From online gatherings to in-person moments, there is always a place to lean in. Prayer forms us, sustains us, and prepares us. At VOUS, we believe prayer is our first response, not our last resort.

Looking Ahead: The Assembly

As 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting set the tone for the year, we’re also preparing for a pivotal gathering in January. The Assembly is happening January 26–27, 2026 at VOUS Miami Gardens.

This two–day event is designed to equip, empower, and encourage pastors and leaders. Through teaching, worship, and connection, The Assembly creates space to be refreshed and reminded of the call God has placed on your life.

If you’re a pastor or church leader, we’d love to host you and your team in Miami. Join leaders from across the world as we seek God’s presence and sharpen our leadership together.
