At VOUS Church, we recently gathered our team for a special VOUSCon Team Night, an evening to worship, realign, and remember why we do what we do. Pastor Luke Barry shared a message that resonated far beyond the room. Rooted in the story of the feeding of the 5,000 from John 6:1-14, it was a reminder for all of us who serve week in and week out:
The miracle isn’t just in what Jesus does, it’s in how we respond.
The Call to Participate
When Jesus turned to his disciples and asked, “What do you have to offer?” He wasn’t asking for perfection. He wasn’t looking for power. He was inviting participation. The disciples brought what little they had, and Jesus multiplied it.
It wasn’t until they began distributing the bread that the miracle unfolded.
The same is true for every church team preparing for Sunday. Every volunteer. Every set-up crew, greeter, or pastor faithfully showing up.
God moves through our yes.
Everyone Has a Part to Play
It’s easier to blend into the crowd. But we weren’t meant to stay there. We’ve been called out. Called up. Called to carry the miracle forward.
As you serve your city, whether in the sound booth or at the altar, you may feel poured out, but you won’t be empty. God’s provision always follows obedience. There is more than enough on the other side of your sacrifice.
Fuel for the Mission
That same spirit of surrender is the heartbeat behind VOUS Worship’s new album, Dying to Be Different, dropping everywhere tomorrow. These songs aren’t just melodies, they’re messages. They were written for the everyday servant leader. For anyone who’s said yes, again and again, even when it’s hard.
We invite you to stream it and let the lyrics refresh your soul as you pour out again.
Come Be a Part of It
And if you’re within driving distance or looking for a place to recharge, join us this June 19–21 in Miami for VOUSCon 2025. It’s a three-day experience where we gather as the global Church to be equipped, refreshed, and reminded of the bigger picture we’re part of.
Because what we’re building isn’t just for a weekend. It’s for eternity.
So wherever you serve, however you lead, bring your five loaves and two fish. Bring your full heart.
The miracle is already in motion.
